BEd Community Week 2015
BEd students take part in annual Community Week
Across a week in June, our BEd (Hons) Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status Stage 3 students visited local schools to perform free services.
The students completed any work that the schools required; from painting and gardening, to creating resources and orienteering trails.
Community Week acts as a thank you to the schools for supporting the University throughout the year and helping with the students' real-world learning and development.
Pearl Daley, of Brookfield Primary School, said: "The students who have been involved in Community Week have been amazing, the work which they have been a part of has been nothing short of professional."
"They have been a credit to the University, examples to our pupils, and given our pupils professional options to think about."
The event happens at the end of each academic year and has proven so popular that all of the Stage 3 students will be taking part again next year.
