The Institute has a focus on innovative research into education and professional practice in schools, colleges, adult education, and in workplace settings.
Our research has a broad definition that includes professional and practical developments and innovation, scholarship, and many forms of qualitative and quantitative research.
Beyond our main foci, research activity is organised across four research clusters:
- Changing Higher Education
- Childhood Research Cluster (CRC)
- Apprenticeship Research Cluster (ARC)
- Post-compulsory and Vocational Education Research Cluster (PAVER)
Membership of a cluster is by application or invitation, but is open to new and experienced researchers.
