The best things about studying Sociology at Derby
I really enjoy studying Sociology at Derby. The course has met and gone above my expectations.
The topics offered always cover a range of topics, and also offer a range of interesting topics. I feel the lecturers are well prepared and the materials to support the lectures and topics are always appropriate and useful.
Study visit to Prague
My time studying abroad in Prague allowed me to experience many different cultures, this allowed me to look at certain situations and view them from a more all-round view. I have also gained many new friends from all over the world, which gives me the opportunity to travel more easily.
We also had some opportunities to travel and went to Poland, Austria as well as other parts of the Czech Republic. We did lots of sightseeing and went to social events, live music nights, on boat trips and food festivals.
Benefitting from my experiences here
Studying in Prague allowed me to experience a different way of learning, different teaching methods and different ways of assessment.
Studying abroad also allowed me to study different topics and to put more time into studying, as at home I work two jobs, therefore I could take more time to read and enjoy my studies.
The experience I had in Prague was truly amazing and I would 100% recommend it to others.
Living in another country is a great experience and the variety of people I met made the whole experience even better. I think living in student dorms when you study abroad is a must. It helps you to meet people who are in the same situation as you are so you never feel alone.
