Lecturer in History

Kathleen is a Lecturer in History and teaches across the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Specialising in nineteenth-century British history and with experience of working in the museums sector, Kathleen is module leader on a number of modules for the MA in Public History and Heritage. Her research focuses on the Victorian Post Office, occupational pensions and occupational health.

Cat Mitchell is a Lecturer in Writing and Publishing with five years of experience working in the publishing industry. She teaches on the Publishing MA course, and the Writing and Publishing BA course.

Lecturer in Journalism

As a Lecturer in Journalism, Emma Oliver teaches across the range of courses offered by the department including BA (Hons) Journalism and BA (Hons) Specialist Sports Journalism. She specialises in online and multimedia journalism and is part of a team that won the Vice-Chancellor’s award for the Best Course in the University in 2018.
