Liz Atkins
Professor of Vocational Education and Social Justice

Professor Liz Atkins is a leading scholar in the field of vocational education and training (VET). She has published widely on her concerns about how VET helps low-attaining young people move from school to work and associated ethical/methodological and social justice issues. Her recent book with Duckworth (2019) is Research Methods for Social Justice and Equity in Education (Bloomsbury).

Andy Bloor is a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Andy is also Programme Lead for iPGCE and Pathway Lead for PGCE School Direct (SEND). His field of interest is around social, emotional and mental health difficulties in children, particularly those with Attachment Disorder and neuro-atypical children.

Jo Byrd
Senior Lecturer in ITE & Early Years Teacher Programme Leader

Jo Byrd has worked in ITE since 2014; she has worked on the BEd, PGCE and Early Years Teacher Status programmes. She has presented at TEAN (Teacher Education Advancement Network) twice and is currently working on her doctorate examining pre-service teachers' discourses on race.
