Winning this award
It's been a great honour and privilege to receive this award. This achievement recognises my commitment, willingness and sheer hard work throughout my three years at Derby and I'm really thrilled and delighted to be recognized.
A supportive environment
The academics offered great support in and out of the classroom and were always available and willing to guide me. My first year at Derby gave me much needed confidence, especially through participation in class discussions which provided encouragement for my personal development and gave me the ability to challenge myself.
I had a few friends who studied here and experienced Derby life, and they recommended it as an excellent place for studies with vibrant night outs and great countryside. It's also a culturally diverse place where I've met lifelong friends from different backgrounds who made my time at Derby memorable.
"Bates Weston congratulates Raja on her achievements this year and we are pleased to continue to support the University and the business faculty by sponsoring this award.
Over the past year, the difficult economic climate has meant that businesses have needed clear and practical advice from their professional advisors, particularly from their accountants, on how to weather a recession. Students graduating in this discipline can be assured that their skills have never been more pertinent."
