Global perspectives are an integral part of all our courses in the School of Law and Social Sciences. Recognising the importance of experiencing how other countries approach legal, justice and social issues, we offer each student the opportunity to go on an international study trip.

Dublin

Courses: Law

A two day trip where students visit the Law Society of Ireland. Of course a trip to the famous Guinness factory and Temple Bar are factored into the itinerary too!

The Hague

Courses: Criminology and Criminal Psychology, Policing, Law

During a three day trip, students visited a local prison, police academy, attended a lecture at The Hague University of Applied Sciences and visited the European Court of Human Rights as well as the international criminal court.

Berlin

Courses: Social Sciences

Students went to Berlin where they visited Berlin wall, a concentration camp and the parliamentary facilities. The aim of the trip is to really explore the social dynamics of a city and region that has such a colourful and extensive history.

Geneva

Courses: Social Sciences

Students went to Geneva in November for a week full of UN activities. Visiting the United Nations Office, UNICEF headquarters and World Trade Organisation, it was an opportunity to experience how global institutions function.

A highlight for our Criminology courses is the opportunity to visit America in the second year of study to explore how the American justice system operates.
