Dr. Jo Hale, Teacher of Zero Balancing at the University of Derby
D.RelCare; DSSH, PCH (Dynamis), RSHom; Cert. Zero Balancing, Practitioner and Teacher. Doctor of Practice (Well-being), Homeopath, Zero Balancer.
Following an early career in Dentistry as a Dental Hygienist, and having studied Biological Sciences
with the Open University (1983 – 1987), Jo became fascinated by the potent subtlety and effectiveness of Homeopathy, a medicine which restores health and well-being by engaging an individual’s capacity for
self-healing. Jo trained as a Homoeopath at Soluna Homoeopathic College, Derbyshire (1989 – 1993),
and directly following this completed certification as a Transpersonal Counselor (1994 – 1996). The Transpersonal approach acknowledges and works
with an individual’s innate wisdom and is particularly complementary to the Homeopathic approach to health. Jo studied with International Teacher Jeremy Sherr and the Dynamis School of Classical Homoeopathy (1998 – 2000), successfully completing Advanced Postgraduate Homeopathic training. She has tutored and supervises homoeopathic students towards their graduation and professional practice.
Jo is also a skilled Zero Balancer, practicing a gentle and powerful, non-diagnostic method of body work which balances body energy with body structure. Having been introduced to Zero Balancing in 1999, Jo graduated as a Certified Zero Balancer (2003 – 2005), and as a Zero Balancing Teacher (2011 – 2014). She teaches Zero Balancing workshops at the University of Derby.
Jo has successfully completed several years of Doctoral Research at the University of Derby, and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Practice (Well-being, Religious Care) in 2012. Her work embraces a contemporary appreciation of experiencing well-being, and explores in depth aspects of the Chinese Five Element model of Health Care. This particular model underpins Jo’s 30+ years of involvement with the wisdom teachings and practices of Qigong and the Martial Arts, and Buddhist practice.
Jo’s involvement within Complementary Health Care has spanned more than 25 years. She works with individuals at all stages of life, and with children and families. Jo practices facilitative Health Care, where the voice and experiences of the individual and the clarity of the practitioner are of prime importance to healing, and where symptoms of ill health are understood as an opportunity for change, transition and transformation, as route and signpost towards wellness.
Jo is a founder member of the Woodlands Natural Health Centre in Derby, and has been instrumental in the development of its practical and philosophical ethos since it was established in 1993.
