Vice-Chancellor's Letter - third national lockdown

This letter from University of Derby Vice-Chancellor Professor Kathryn Mitchell DL explains how the University has responded to the third national lockdown announced by the government.

Since my last letter, we have entered into a third national lockdown and the government guidance for higher education institutions on managing the return of students and staff following the festive break has also changed.

I would therefore like to update you on what this means at Derby and the measures we have put in place to keep our students, staff and local communities safe.

I can share with you the following:

We understand the concerns students have around paying for University accommodation that they are unable to currently return to due to government guidelines, and have today written to them to confirm that:

While this is an extremely challenging time for everyone it is so important that we follow the national regulations and guidelines which are currently in place and do everything we can to keep ourselves and our local communities safe.

Yours sincerely,

Professor Kathryn Mitchell DL
