Dr Eghosa Ekhator is a Senior Lecturer in Law. He joined the University of Derby in September 2019 from the University of Chester, where he taught on both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His primary areas of research are International Environmental Law (especially Environmental Justice issues in developing countries and the African Union) and Natural Resources Governance.

Duncan is a Senior Public Officer in Malta and has worked in managerial positions with organisations in a wide variety of sectors in Civil Government, Educational Management, Insurance, Risk and Security and Retail. He is reading for a Doctorate in Professional Practice with a specific interest in Executive Coaching.

As a Research Professor in Criminology, Stephen devotes most of his time to his own research interests (which include studying the impact of Thatcherism on crime and the criminal justice system, why people stop offending and the fear of crime), and helping colleagues develop their own research plans and careers.

Robyn is a PhD researcher at the University of Derby. Her research is based on analysing the criminological theory of ‘social harm’ through people’s lived experiences of Universal Credit.

Mark Flint-Freel
Lecturer in Criminology

Mark is a former police officer, having served for 30 years in both the Metropolitan Police and Derbyshire Constabulary. His worked included close protection, self-defence and physical training, firearms and public order. He completed his service as head of Special Constables training and went on to develop the Specials training programme for the College of Policing.

Olivia Fortune is a technical instructor for restaurant and food service operations and part of the Culinary Team. When she is training students she ensures they learn all the skills necessary to the highest standard in order to carry them into future careers.

Carley Foster is Professor of Services Marketing and Head of the Centre for Business Improvement at the University of Derby. Her work is widely published, has been funded by several organisations and as an applied researcher, she works with business to create impact.
