You can view courses available in Clearing by checking the UCAS Clearing list – this is available from 1 July, but will be updated with more choices added on A-level results day.
On results day the Clearing list will be constantly updated. Visit university websites too, as they’ll publish their own lists.
If you are ringing universities on the day, make sure you have important details to hand. You’ll need: your UCAS number, exam results including GCSEs, BTECs etc, and your login details for UCAS Track.
You may also want to compile a list of questions to ask, and have a copy of your personal statement to refer to.
When you’re ready to ring, find a quiet place, take a deep breath and start calling. Stay calm and composed so you can really sell yourself. Write down the details of anyone you speak to in case you need to contact them again.
If you receive a Clearing offer over the phone, make sure you get written confirmation of the offer and its expiry date by email.
