Intergenerational Volunteer Award

Do you know an amazing intergenerational volunteer?

You are invited to nominate a person, group or organisation that have undertaken an outstanding intergenerational volunteering initiative.

This is a new award, supported by Catherine Atkinson MP, designed to recognise and celebrate volunteering initiatives and groups that benefit the community, and foster meaningful connection between at least two different generations.

I'm proud to launch a new civic award celebrating something truly special about our community here in Derby — the incredible ways people of all ages are coming together through volunteering.

Catherine Atkinson
MP for Derby North

"I’ve seen so many excellent examples across our city of people giving their time, energy, and compassion to bring generations together — from school pupils spending time with older residents, to grandparents and grandchildren volunteering side by side, and community groups creating spaces where young and old learn from one another.

This new award shines a light on those who are building meaningful, lasting connections between generations and making our communities stronger, kinder, and more inclusive.

If you know someone — or are part of a group, school, charity or organisation — who is making a difference by connecting generations, I would love to hear from you.

Let’s celebrate the kindness, creativity and community spirit that brings generations together!"
