Buxton Festival Fringe
Buxton Festival Fringe is one of the largest open-access art festivals in the country, dating all the way back to the 80’s. The fringe is run by a number of volunteers who aim to provide an opportunity for artists to perform or exhibit in an environment that is low-cost and an atmosphere that is receptive. The Fringe encourages artists to take risks and experiment and ensure audiences are enthusiastic and encouraging of innovation and new work. The Fringe provides a showcase for performers and artists of all kinds in a variety of venues. In 2014, the Fringe hosted nearly 600 performances from some 150 entrants.
The University of Derby is a proud sponsor of Buxton Festival Fringe.
