Arriving throughout the year - Moving in - University of Derby

Arriving in January

Four students hanging round outside halls chatting

Most students move into halls in September and it's best to arrive during Welcome Day if you can. However, don't worry if you can't, or if your course and halls contract start at a different point in the year we're happy to make alternative arrangements for you.

January Arrivals

Please go direct to your halls of residence on arrival. We recommend that you arrive during office hours (9am - 6pm), but if you do arrive outside office hours, please call the hall mobile number and someone will show you to your room. The full postcode and mobile number of each hall can be found below.

If you arrive earlier than your contracted dates please contact your Hall Manager to confirm your expected date and time of arrival so they can make sure your room will be ready. Remember that if you arrive earlier than your contract date, you will need to pay for the additional days unless you're an international or Get Ahead student.

UK and International students

If you are an international student arriving in January 2018 you can find out more about travelling here and the University's meet and greet service through the International Office.

If you are a UK student arriving in January 2018 you'll need to make your own way to Derby.

We recommend that you arrive during office hours (9am - 6pm) but if you do arrive outside of normal office hours, please ring the hall mobile number to let them know when you are coming and someone will show you to your room.
