Start up support

Providing support to individuals and organisations to assist in the first steps of establishing a business. This support aims to create sustainable and investable businesses, strengthening Derby's entrepreneurial eco-system.

Eligible businesses will be able to access:

• networking events, meet-ups and community building activities
• support to secure external funding (grants)
• 1-1 and/or group support for eligibility assessment and application assistance

Derby Innovation Accelerator is offering the opportunity to work with our Entrepreneur in Residence, Michael Gladwell - founder of UpBeat Clean and recipient of the King's Award for Enterprise.

Together you will work to design the business model that fits your ambitions and puts you on the path to sustainable growth.

Through a series of face-to-face 1:1 sessions in the Game Changer Lab located in our brand new Cavendish Building, you'll:

• Explore the different growth routes open to you
• Test and refine your model to find the one with the greatest potential
• Build a clear plan to move from early validation to repeatable revenue and real traction

We're looking for 5-6 ambitious Derby City start-ups ready to scale. Alongside working with Michael, you'll gain access to our 1st floor incubation space, connecting you to the wider start-up ecosystem, networking, and enterprise development opportunities.
