Funded industrial research for SMEs

Offering SMEs the opportunity to work with MPhil post graduate reserach students, under the Productivity Through Innovation (PtI) Programme funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

The programme aims to deliver meaningful and sustainable productivity improvement leading to; increased R&D, turnover, efficiency, profitability and/or job creation.

We have funding for a small number of SMEs to engage with a University of Derby postgraduate student. The research student will be dedicated to delivering a project that will directly benefit the company.

To be eligible, the SME must be based in D2N2 and applications are particularly welcomed from, although not restricted to, the following sectors:

What does the project entail and how will it benefit your business?

By using innovative research, the research student will work closely with the collaborating business to tackle specific business issues that could support the development of new products and services, new system design or the delivery of feasibility studies.

This is a chance for participating companies to attract bright minds whose ideas might lead to great innovation!

What is the application process for interested SMEs?
