Simulating Metal Manufacturing Processes Workshop - Funded Support for Business - University of Derby

Simulating Metal Manufacturing Processes Workshop

Date: Tuesday 19th September & Wednesday 20th September 2017, 9am-3.30pm
Venue: University of Derby, Lonsdale House, Quaker Way, Derby DE1 3EE

Whether you are involved in bulk metal forming, sheet metal forming, mechanical joining, welding technology or additive manufacturing the rapid pace of development means simulation of these processes could be beneficial in understanding trends and reducing costs in an ever increasing competitive worldwide landscape.

Please join us for this two day event where we will investigate the benefits of simulation for the metal manufacturing industry and looking at key questions such as:

  • Could the first physical test already provide approval for production?
  • Is the process used the most cost efficient?
  • Could we store company know-how in a simple way?
  • Could we reduce cycle times for the development of new parts?
  • Could we improve product quality?

The second day will include hands-on workshops using Simufact tools to understand the capabilities that simulation can provide in the different metal manufacturing processes.
With Simufact’s product solutions you can map complete process chains and produce simulation results that take into account such aspects as the material properties between the process steps.

You can download the agendas for both days HERE.

The project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to deliver free support for eligible SMEs in the D2N2 area.
