Delivering consistent training across all of Center Parcs UK sites

The University of Derby Corporate has worked closely with Center Parcs since 2007. Initially, Center Parcs was looking to create a learning platform which would enable new starters to complete a pre-arrivals section of the staff induction programme online before their first day on site. This covered topics including:

• introductions from senior members of staff
• company values
• standards of appearance
• information about each village and where things are located.

The learning platform has now evolved and been developed to incorporate a range of mandatory e-learning courses and refresher courses which employees need to complete each year. Many of these are health and safety based, for example:

• general health and safety
• fire safety
• manual handling
• spillage management
• equipment maintenance training
• food safety

The usage of the platform has continued to grow. There are currently 6500 users accessing their learning via the platform, and to date over 30,000-course assessments have been passed.
