We asked Andrew about his career journey
"When I was in further education I had no idea what job I wanted to do so I decided to take a business studies course thinking it would give me plenty of options."
The early years
"From 1996 to 2000, I worked for a small company called PWR Marketing, a marketing consultancy company. Additionally during my student years I worked at Ladbrokes which led to my role in the company as assistant."
"My early experience of marketing and customer service served me well and I went on to work at Nottingham Trent University in their business school as a Marketing Assistant. I stayed in this role for two years before progressing to the role of a Marketing Officer at Derby College, where I stayed for almost 8 years."
"I now work for Marketing Derby I can truly say that it's a pleasure to go to work which is a great feeling when you get up in the morning. I don't think there are many people that can say the product they are marketing is a city, it's very exciting when you're proud of that city and when you're from that city. I really enjoy the job I'm in at the moment."
