Travelling to Derby by bus
The Unibus is a great service for everyone that links all the University of Derby sites, the main halls of residence, Derby city centre, Markeaton Park Park and Ride, Derby train station and a major supermarket.
The Unibus is partly subsidised by the money generated from car parking charges.
From 11 September 2017 All University of Derby Students and Staff can travel free on the Unibus upon production of a valid University ID card

The Number 4 - Markeaton Shuttle bus
The No.4 is a free service for staff and students who travel between Kedleston Road and Markeaton Street/Britannia Mill. It runs all year and calls at the Markeaton Park Park and Ride during undergraduate teaching weeks. The No.4a makes sure there are frequent buses at the park and ride.
It is a new accessible low floor bus.
After 6pm the No.4a continues to provide a free service between Kedleston Road and Markeaton Street/Britannia Mill stops for students and staff.
The Number 5 (Unibus 5)
The No.5 is a University contract bus service, which serves the University, Markeaton Park (term time only), Ashbourne Road, Derby city centre, Sainsburys and Uttoxeter New Road. Everyone can use the No. 5.
The No.5 route has new accessible low floor buses that run half hourly in term time. It is also free for Staff and Students
The Number 6 (Unibus 6)
The No.6 connects the Kedleston Road site with halls, the city centre and the train station. Everyone can use Unibus 6, and it is Free for University of Derby Staff and Students. It runs every 12 minutes in term time and less frequently outside of term time.
An additional departure runs at 0828 directly from the station to Kedleston Road. This is known as the 6X
The Number 7 (Unibus 7)
The No.7 is new for 2017/18 and is a fast link to several of the Halls of residence.
The No.7 is also free for University of Derby Staff and Students. It runs during term time, during the working day, every 20 minutes on a circuit from Kedleston Road, Along Ashbourne Road past St.Christophers Halls, then outside Princess Alice Court (a short work from Sir Peter Hilton Court and Nunnery Court) and then Peak Court, before returning along Kedleston Road to the main site. This bus allows for an extra 3 runs an hour during the working day.
