- What can I pay for online?
We accept payments online for Tuition and Accommodation.
- How do I make a payment online?
Click on this link http://www.derby.ac.uk/online-payment. The online payment system will ask you to identify yourself first and then will ask what you would like to pay for. No payments will be taken until you are asked to confirm payment.
- Can I make a payment by another method?
Payment using the University’s online facility is the University’s preferred payment method as it provides an easy and flexible way to enable you to make payments. However you can make a payment:

- When will the payment be debited from my card?
The payment will be processed immediately, but the payment may not be debited from your card straight away. Please check with your card issuer to find out how long this will take.
- How do I know if a payment is successful?
You will receive a printable confirmation receipt when the payment has been processed successfully. Please keep this for your records.
- Can I make a payment on behalf of someone else?
You can make a payment on behalf of someone else. Click on this link http://www.derby.ac.uk/online-payment and choose Parent or 3rd party option.
- Can I pay with someone else's card?
If you intend to pay using a card which isn't yours the correct cardholder must be present and they must key in their own details.
- My payment was declined but I want to make a payment by another method, what should I do?

- Can I amend my payment once it's been taken?
You are not able to amend a payment once you have clicked 'confirm payment'. If you have overpaid an invoice you should contact us by email at email@example.com or by telephone on 01332 592742 for further guidance.
- I've tried to pay but the system isn't responding, what can I do?
You can try to pay again later online. Payment using the University’s online facility is the University’s preferred payment method as it provides an easy and flexible way to enable you to make payments. However you can make a payment or Please see “Can I make payment by another method?”
- My payment hasn't been confirmed, what should I do?
You will need to contact your card issuer to see if it has been successful. If yes contact please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone on 01332 592742.
- Can I make a payment now and pay the rest at a later date?
Yes, you can make a payment by card now and again at a later date. You will need to ensure your payment reaches us on or before the date that it is due.
- I think I've overpaid, can you refund my card, what should I do?
You should contact us by email at email@example.com or by telephone on 01332 592742 for further guidance and to discuss if your account has been overpaid.
- What do I need the confirmation receipt for?
This is your official proof of payment. It may be necessary to produce this to your employer/sponsor/parent/guardian as proof of payment or we may ask you to present it to us if you have an enquiry.
As part of making your payment, the University will collect from you personal information about you such as your name, student ID, course details, address and payment details (including credit / debit card details).
By submitting these personal details to the University through the website you are providing your consent to the processing of that personal information about you by the University for the purposes set out in these Terms and Conditions. This includes the processing of your payment(s) to the University, dealing with any queries, concerns or issues you may raise, investigating any non-payment or fraudulent activity which may arise and otherwise as legally required or lawfully permitted under the Data Protection Act 1998.
After your payment(s) have been made, your personal information will then be retained and processed in accordance with the University’s Data Protection Policy and Retention Policy, available at http://www.derby.ac.uk/foi/data-protection-statements/.
To enable the University to carry out the above processing activities, the University will share your personal information with our carefully selected third party service providers, who will collect the payment(s) from you and process your payment(s) on behalf of the University. [Some of our service providers may not be based in the UK, however reasonable steps are taken by the University to ensure any overseas transfers are secure.
