Payments

We accept payments online for tuition and accommodation.

You can now by credit or debit card using our new and improved Online Payment Portal.

The online payment system will ask you to identify yourself first and then will ask what you would like to pay for. No payments will be taken until you are asked to confirm payment

Payment using the University’s online facility is the University’s preferred payment method as it provides an easy and  flexible way to enable you to make payments.

  • You have the choice of paying using a credit or debit card. We accept American Express, Mastercard and VISA.
  • Our tuition and accommodation payment system uses Flywire, which also accepts a range of local payment methods.

 

 

The payment will be processed immediately, but the payment may not be debited from your card straight away. Please  check with your card issuer to find out how long this will take.

You will receive a printable confirmation receipt when the payment has been processed successfully. Please keep this for your records.

You can make a payment on behalf of someone else. Go to the Online Payment Portal and choose Parent or 3rd party option.

If you intend to pay using a card which isn't yours the correct cardholder must be present and they must key in their own details.

You are not able to amend a payment once you have clicked 'confirm payment'. If you have overpaid an invoice you should contact us by email at salesledger@derby.ac.uk or by telephone on +44 (0)1332 592742 for further guidance.

Yes, you can make a payment by card now and again at a later date. You will need to ensure your payment reaches us on or before the date that it is due.

This is your official proof of payment. It may be necessary to produce this to your employer/sponsor/parent/guardian as proof of payment or we may ask you to present it to us if you have an enquiry.

Security 

As part of making your payment, the University will collect from you personal information about you such as your name, student ID, course details, address and payment details (including credit / debit card details).

By submitting these personal details to the University through the website you are providing your consent to the processing of that personal information about you by the University for the purposes set out in these Terms and Conditions. This includes the processing of your payment(s) to the University, dealing with any queries, concerns or issues you may raise, investigating any non-payment or fraudulent activity which may arise and otherwise as legally required or lawfully permitted under the Data Protection Act 1998.

After your payment(s) have been made, your personal information will then be retained and processed in accordance with the University’s Data Protection Policy and Retention Policy.

To enable the University to carry out the above processing activities, the University will share your personal information with our carefully selected third party service providers, who will collect the payment(s) from you and process your payment(s) on behalf of the University. Some of our service providers may not be based in the UK, however reasonable steps are taken by the University to ensure any overseas transfers are secure.
