As the University follows the principles of the waste hierarchy, we aim to ensure none of our non-hazardous waste goes to landfill - it is recycled or converted into energy.

The University of Derby supports Fairtrade and gained Fairtrade accreditation in 2005. We sell Fairtrade products across our sites and help with awareness raising.

We nurture excellence in research and teaching and recognise the strong link between the two. Many areas of our research have an environmental element.
