Privacy Notice for University of Derby Online Short Courses

The information that you supply when you register for our online courses platform will be held and processed in line with the UK GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018/EU GDPR.

We collect your name and email address so that we can create an account for you on our online learning platform and provide you with access to the online courses. We collect your current country so that we can comply with financial reporting requirements for courses that require payment.

Information will be used by the University of Derby (as Data Controller) to record your enrolment, progress, and completion of courses in our online learning environment. Your data will be stored securely in our systems and used only for the purposes described here.

We retain this data for 2 years after your most recent enrolment on a course, after such time it will be securely destroyed.

This data will be shared externally with our platform provider Anthology, who will use this data solely for the purpose of providing access to any courses onto which you enrol.

Our lawful basis for processing this data is your consent to us collecting and processing this data, which you can provide when completing the registration form for our online courses platform.
