I was a mature student, so had practical experience - but my university course gave me the right push that I needed to achieve my aims and head off into a different direction.

If you've got vocational qualifications or lots of experience, you may also be able to come to university.

Here are some of the vocational qualifications we accept:

  • Access and Foundation courses
  • GNVQ Advanced
  • AVCE
  • Baccalaureate
  • City and Guilds
  • NVQ
  • Apprenticeship Scheme.

Our Modular Access or Foundation Programmes are a great way to get back into education, as you don't need any specific qualifications to enrol. We offer this course here at Derby and you can move on to an undergraduate degree afterwards.
