Buxton Round Table Fireworks Display

Student help at local firework display

I would happily provide references

Phil Smith, Round Table Firework Event Organiser

The local charitable organisation, Buxton Round Table approached The University of Derby Buxton for Events Management students help in coordinating their community fireworks display at Buxton Cricket Ground.

The event is one of the largest events in the Buxton calendar in terms of attendance and students were invited to apply for the positions.

The event was advertised on on our employability portal and seven students used the online placements and volunteering portal to sign up to help at the event which looks great on their CV's and gives them valuable real world learning experiences of a large public event.

Phil Smith from Round Table the event organiser said; "We had one of our most successful nights with around 3,700 spectators. The role of the marshals is vital and the help of the students was greatly appreciated.
