English Support

Improve your English while doing your degree

In order to help you understand what is required from you and to make you feel more comfortable studying with us, we have a range of support available to you through our International Student Advisor and our library.

Academic Study Skills / English Classes

These classes focus on academic terminology, essay and report writing, referencing, and helps you understand English academic language. Join them on Fridays 10am-12pm in DO/G/18 or 1-3pm in DO/108.

Conversation Club

This is for students who are interested in meeting new people and practice their English in a fun and safe environment at the same time. The Conversation Club meets every Wednesday 4-5pm in DO/108 to discuss current affairs and hot topics which will help to sharpen your listening and verbal skills. It is led by local residents with a lot of knowledge and fascinating stories.

"I joined the conversation group last semester, as I wanted to learn and practice my English. We discussed different interesting topics such as festivals, travel, policy, education, and traditional culture etc twice every week. I think I can understand my friends more through the conversation group and I feel closer to them."

Yoon Kyung Lee, BA Hospitality Management
