Every week on a Tuesday

......we meet to pray for the University and our other concerns from 12.30 to 12.45.in the Oasis Space (CL303). Staff and students all welcome! Email your prayer requests to chaplains@derby.ac.uk

Then at 4.30, also on a Tuesday ... head down to High Peak Halls for the Fairtrade Tea!

Tea, coffee and cake in the Common Room from 4.30. It's all free and it's all fair-trade! Come early if you want the home-made cake!

Global Cafe

This is a fun social event open to all, every other Thursday, beginning on October 18th. Join us in the Boiler House (entrance near the main entrance to the Dome), 7.30 - 9.30pm, for free refreshments, chat, games, optional Bible activity and a special focus each time.

Sunday 16 September

Freshers' Welcome Lunch and Country Walk

This is for all new students, hosted in a nearby home. We'll meet at the Dome car park and set off together on foot at 12.45pm. We'll go for a stroll after lunch, so wear walking shoes that you don't mind getting muddy!

Tuesday 18 September

Fairtrade Tea in Halls

Join us in the Common Room at High Peak Halls from 4.30 for the first of our weekly Fairtrade Teas!

Thursday 20 September

"Let Them Eat Cake!"

A foretaste of Heaven at the Chaplaincy's Cake Extravaganza! Take a break in your frenzied fresher's or beginning-of-term programme, come and find out where the Chaplains hang out and gorge yourself silly on tea and cake! Open House for everyone in the Oasis Space, Clarendon 303 from 12.30pm -4.30pm.

Sunday 23 September

Welcome Lunch and Country Walk

Another Sunday lunch gathering for all new students. We'll meet in the Dome car park and set off together on foot at 12.45pm. For those with enough energy there will be another scramble up to a hill-top viewpoint so you'll need those walking shoes again!

Fairtrade Tea in Halls

The second of our weekly fairtrade teas, from 4.30 in the Common Room. All welcome!

Friday 28 September

Go-karting Trip

Sixteen places are available for freshers aged 18+ on this afternoon trip to the Go-kart track at Swain's Centre in Harpur Hill. You'll be put into teams and take turns behind the wheel to clock up the laps over an hour. Beginners welcome! There's a £5 charge for the trip and you need to book your place by emailing Ingrid Keith: i.keith@derby.ac.uk

Thursday 18 October

First Global Cafe event

Join us in the Boilerhouse, 7.30 - 9.30 for free refreshments, chat, games, optional Bible activity, and "Fun Facts about Buxton." All welcome!

Further Global Cafe events will follow on November 1, November 15, November 22, November 29, December 13 and December 20.

Tuesday 4 December

A Christmas Carol Service for all staff, students and friends in the Dome, 2.30pm. Christmassy refreshments will be served from 2pm.
