Markeaton park and ride
Markeaton Park and Ride (term time only)
If you need to drive to the Derby Campus, but don't qualify for a permit at Kedleston Road, you can buy a permit for the Markeaton Park Park and Ride (location shown below). It's around 3 minutes drive or 10-15 minutes walk from either site.
Shuttle buses
Buses run from the Park and Ride to both Kedleston Road and Markeaton Street (The No.4 and No.5). Use of these buses is free (only) between the Park and Ride and teaching sites. There are 5 to 6 buses to both sites every hour. Full details of timetables and routes can be found here.
Costs
- A permit for Markeaton Park is £54 per year. Book your Markeaton Park - Park and Ride permit now. You don't have to pay and display if you have this permit.
- The shuttle bus is free to the Kedleston Road, Markeaton Street and Britannia Mill sites.
Security
- High spec CCTV has been installed
- Brand new, high standard lighting will be in place in time for the dark evenings
- Park Rangers and City Council parking staff will regularly patrol the area
Dates and times
Buses run from approximately 8.00am to 6.00pm. After 4.30pm parking is free and unrestricted at the Kedleston Road site, so you could move your car there if staying late
The Park and Ride (MP) gold permit is valid at the park on weekdays only between these dates:
- 12 September - 16 December 2011
- 23 January - 30 March 2012
- 16 April - 1 June 2012
Outside of these dates this permit is valid at Kedleston Road, and will expire on 31 August 2012.
NB. We have a large but limited number of MP Permits that are issued on a first come first serve basis.
