Duty Manager
After completing my course at the University of Derby Buxton I worked for a year in the Lee Wood Hotel, Buxton as a duty manager. I was already working at the hotel whilst at university so the position was a relatively easy job to get because of my experience.
A change and Virgin Atlantic!
However, after a year working as the duty manager I decided I needed a change, the role involved very long hours, and the work was very hard, so I applied for a job with Virgin Atlantic and was successful.
My plan was to only stay for a few years but I have no plans to go anywhere else because I love the job, the freedom, the time off and the time down route. Oh, and did I mention all the concessions.
The future
I've just applied to work a 50% contract, on a one month on, one month off basis. I'm planning to visit six countries for a month at a time; first Vietnam, then Bolivia, Chile... I'm open to suggestions.
