About this module
This module has been designed in partnership with senior nurses at local NHS trusts. It is designed to provide the theory and reflective support to new employees in these institutions.
The learning takes place in a blended format, using learning undertaken during the your workplace preceptorship programme, and online using the university's online platform.
The aims are to facilitate you to obtain the theoretical tools you will need to provide care as a registered practitioner and the reflective framework to embed the learning which takes place in practice and during the trust study days. The content of the module is informed by the requirements of the NHS trusts and includes the development of skills to encourage evidence based practice alongside the acquisition of the knowledge base required to enhance the skills development of the nurse new to the organisation.
The module assessment strategy will include formative assessment of the trusts' preceptorship packs, a learning log and a summative online structured evidence based assignment.
