Your career

Gemma Hampshire, Textiles graduate
“I’m working as a fully fledged designer and it’s exciting when I see my new knitwear designs in Monsoon, Jaeger and Hawkshead." Gemma Hampshire, graduate.

Textiles graduates enter the exciting world of textile design working as designers, managers and production advise in either woven, knitted or printed textiles in a wide range of organisations. You could work on a freelance basis, establishing your own workshops or follow a career in fashion, forecasting, illustration or buying. Textiles is a global industry and offers you many opportunities to travel as part of your career.

How you'll learn

You will develop and realise your potential through a varied programme of studio-based projects, lectures, debates, competitions, live project work, group critiques, field visits, tutorials, technical demonstrations, written assignments, seminars and practical workshops.
