Multimedia performance

A team of final year BSc (Hons) Sound, Light and Live Event Technology students had to design a multimedia performance based around one piece of music, and controlled exclusively by show control methods.

They built their own show

Students Dan Ayres, Gustav Barnard, Tim Fawkes, Edd Burch, Adam Dewhurst, James Milner, Richard Ducker and Tara Rawson, built their show to represent the four natural elements - earth, air, fire and water.

"We felt that these fundamental elements only ever receive negative press when they cause major destruction. We wanted to illustrate the positive impact these natural phenomenon have both on humanity and our environment" - Dan Ayres.

A clever integration into the mix

Using a mix of video, music, narration, effects and lighting, the students created a piece of installation art which cleverly integrated sound, light and video equipment along with various special effects such as wind, to create a multimedia performance.

Presentation received a grade 'A'

The presentation was exclusively controlled by show control methods so after the initial trigger the system automatically reset and repeated.

The completed project received a grade 'A', and the students now armed with their degrees have gone onto to work freelance and employed, as far out as South Africa.
