Derbot Wars 2008
Teams of students from a variety of technology courses were put through their paces when we held a robot wars challenge where 12 robots competed against each other.
Students built their 'Derbots' (Derby robots) and programmed them to follow the line around the board while looking out for certain obstacles, for example the red arrow, an indication to drop a marble, identifying a blocked path, and turning towards the light after stopping in the box.
The derbots were scored depending on whether they completed the full circuit and the time it took to travel around the board.
