Two final year students from our BA (Hons) Popular Music and Music Technology course attended the Sensoria Festival. It ran for four days and the final day was their 'pro day' and featured classes from top industry executives.

Our day began with a talk about sound in video games which covered composing music for video games, creating sound effects and licensing original music for video games.
Another of the highlights was the session with Vivek J Tiwary and Nitin
Sawhney, Director and Composer of the forth coming film The Fifth Beatle where they discussed the role of music in film. The final session of the day covered licensing music in film and TV.
Visiting Sensoria was a great way of getting some insight into the music and film industry. As well as being a good opportunity to spend some time talking to industry executives.

Jack and I were surprised at how intimate the event was, there were so many opportunities to chat to people who are heavily involved in the music and film industries, which was ideal for networking.
The sessions were really interesting and there was a good variety of experts who gave useful information for anyone wanting to pursue a career in music and the media. We were pleasantly surprised by the experts who were at the event, with 'top people' from software companies, the American TV and film industry and well known composers and producers.
The workshops were informative and there was an opportunity to try out the latest software, with experts on hand to advise and answer questions.
We were both really grateful to be involved in this event, and this has given us some great career ideas, and the chance to see just how many different opportunities are out there in this field.
