"The track days are a good opportunity for students to get involved with the competitive side to motosport. It is a great networking circle and you can get advice and learn a lot. I hope to be competing in the British Drift Championship next year and I am currently building my car for my second year project."

Tom Hutchinson, motorsport student and director/founder of Doughnutters

For his second year project Tom Hutchinson one of our motorsport students built a car for the British Drift Championship that he hoped to compete in. Tom already had his semi-pro drift licence and aimed to get sponsorship for a future in competition.

Tom set up his own company, Doughnutters, with the help of his team members to orgainse track days for others, particularly fellow students. This gives them the chance to get involved with the competitive side of motorsport at any level.

Tom said, "We're building a profile and reputation with the support from lecturers to do track days to get people involved and give them the opportunity to prepare for competition or have insight to the competition industry generally."

Doughnutters have a promotional car that was sprayed bright pink to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
