Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

Expertise to help you

Staff at Rolls-Royce PLC: we work with them to design our courses

Our lecturers are researching areas such as e-manufacturing and advanced system modelling, so you'll be taught by professionals who are experts in their field and know the latest developments.

Accredited degrees

Our courses are accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, which gives you increased opportunities for networking, a wealth of online resources through technical and professional networks, an archive and library service and national and international recognition for the qualifications. They are also accredited by the Engineering Council, so you can be sure that they are recognised professionally and will provide you with the skills that the industry demands.

A range of courses

You can take our full time BEng (Hons) Manufacturing and Production Engineering or BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering which are designed in collaboration with employers in the industry so that you're equipped with the right skills.

Or you can take our part time FdSc Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering course and top it up to a degree on the BEng (Hons) Manufacturing and Production Engineering course. This means that you will gain two internationally recognised qualifications in four years of part time study.

You can also then study our MSc Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, which will give you the underpinning knowledge to register as a Chartered Engineer (CEng).

International students

International students should apply to us directly for September 2012 start.  You can find out more about what our current international students think about Derby, by watching their video postcards
