Our lecturers are researching areas such as e-manufacturing and advanced system modelling, so you'll be taught by professionals who are experts in their field and know the latest developments.
Engineers continue to be in short supply and there is a demand across the whole world, so having a degree that's grounded in practical, hands-on experience will give you great job prospects - who knows where you might end up.
A range of courses
You can take our full time BEng (Hons) Manufacturing and Production Engineering or BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering which are designed in collaboration with employers in the industry so that you're equipped with the skills that you, and they, need and is nationally recognised.
Or you can take our part time FdSc Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering course and top it up to a degree on the BEng (Hons) Manufacturing and Production Engineering course. This means that you will gain two internationally recognised qualifications in four years of part time study.
You can also then take courses in MSc Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, which will give you the underpinning knowledge to register as a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
Local industry
We've got close links with the local industry, especially in aerospace and rail, and local companies such as Rolls-Royce.
Our courses have lots of practical elements so you can build up your skills by applying the theory to real situations. You could also move on to related areas such as product design.
