Derbot Wars
Teams of students from a variety of technology courses were put through their paces when we held a robot wars challenge.
Students built their 'Derbots' (Derby robots) and programmed them to find a line by first seeking a light source, then tracking the line in order to find and pick up a wooden pallet, placing it in a drop zone, at the same time being ready to identify and avoid any obstacle in the path.
The Derbots were scored depending on the number of tasks they completed, and the time it took to travel around the competition surface.
