Learning Beyond Registration

Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) is a vital part of developing competent, capable health service practitioners prepared to deliver a dynamic, flexible, quality, client-focused service. If you're employed by the NHS in the East Midlands then you may be eligible for fee-free access to our LBR modules and/or programmes. You'll need to supply evidence of approval from your line manager and Trust Education Lead when you apply.

About this module

This module reflects the professional nature of the pathway and is therefore seen as a key element in bringing the skills of critical analysis to professional practice.  It allows the you the opportunity to critically analyse the impact of applying systemic principles in practice. It gives you the opportunity to develop the ability to discuss systemic practice and theory in both oral and written forms.

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of the philosophical positions that underpin research practice and evaluation, with emphasis on the methods by which theory is generated and data collected. Therefore, throughout this module the critical reading of research will be related to current and relevant issues in theory, psychotherapeutic practice and professional development.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this module you will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a familiarity with the AFT code of ethics and its implications for practice.
  2. Demonstrate a capacity to use consultation and supervision in relation to systemic thinking and practice.
