Work based learning and accredited qualifications

We work with a wide variety of organisations to deliver work based learning programmes that improve key capabilities such as service, innovation, leadership and problem solving.

We develop bespoke work based learning solutions for many of our clients, devising programmes to address specific gaps in the skills, knowledge and capability of their workforces.

Most of our professional courses are held at our new Enterprise Centre, while our part time masters courses are held at our main site on Kedleston Road, Derby.

A hub for business innovation and training

Our new Enterprise Centre in Bridge Street, Derby opened in June 2010 – it’s a flagship facility that has become the focus for the business to business operations of the University.

The Enterprise Centre is an £8 million purpose built facility that provides services for businesses locally and nationally. It includes conferencing rooms, training suites, offices, a dining area, café and an Innovation Zone for start up businesses. It also houses many of the University’s business focused teams, including University of Derby Corporate, the training and development division of the University of Derby.

University of Derby Corporate won the Outstanding Employer Engagement Initiative, Times Higher Education annual award by demonstrating the excellence of a UK university in responding to the needs of business, and delivering learning flexibly in a range of modes, supported by well-designed rigorous assessment to meet the needs of employers. The award recognised University of Derby Corporate’s strategic and innovative approach to delivering employers' workforce development needs through accreditation and work based learning.
