If you're interested in a research degree, here are our general entry requirements

You can apply for a negotiated programme of research, building towards a Master or Doctor of Philosophy degree.

These higher degrees are awarded in recognition of a successful period of research training, normally culminating in the production of a thesis.

MPhil/PhD entry requirements

You would be expected to have a very good undergraduate degree (first or second class honours), or a qualification or relevant experience which is deemed by the University to be equivalent. Completion of a relevant masters degree is an advantage.

The Faculty must also be satisfied that the candidate has the necessary command of the English language to undertake a research investigation.
