What I can help with
I help with the day-to-day administration within the admissions team. I can offer advice on a wide range of courses and/or point you in the right direction. My role also includes developing the admissions web pages and the Online Disability Questionnaire (ODQ) for our disabled applicants, as well as other sources of electronic communication.
I've a lot of experience in working within current student services and can point you in the right direction on information that you may need after you enrol. From this experience I was responsible for the effective implementation, monitoring, evaluation and continual development of the Ask Us online Q&A system for prospective and current students. I also helped in the initial Feedback projects, which are designed to allow students to put their thoughts and experiences to university staff, so that the university can make your study the best experience it can be.
My background
Before joining the University in 2005 as a member of staff, I studied here on the BA (Hons) Performing and Media Art programme. This has led me into education and the arts. Outside of my role at the University of Derby, I work with community arts and theatre projects and have been privileged to be part of the national initiative Imagination Our Nation, as well as a founding associate member of local company Define Theatre. I also set up and continue to run the Derby Unsigned Gig Guide (DUGG) promoting unsigned music in Derby.
I am also continuing my undergraduate study on the University's BA (Hons) in Computer Games Programming and Animation in preparation for my Masters in September.
