Getting help on evenings and weekends
You might on occasion need access to out of hours health services when your GP practice is closed.
An increasing number of GP practices are offering extended opening times in the mornings and evenings so do check out the opening times of your practice.
In Derby there are a number of ways in which you can access health care out of hours. These include:

Derby Open Access Centre offers GP and nursing services from 8am to 8pm 365 days a year to anyone, regardless of which GP practice they are registered with.
» Emergency dental service
The out of hours dental service is located on Coleman Street in Derby. If you need access to this service you should ring your dentist's number out of hours. For anyone not registered with a local dentist information is available at NHS Choices

» Late opening pharmacies
An increasing number of pharmacies are now offering later opening times, some as late as midnight. Some of the bigger supermarkets also offer a pharmacy service until closing time.
