Student Counselling Service
We provide short-term counselling, which is free for all students.
You will be offered an initial appointment where you can discuss why you have come for counselling and check if counselling is the right type of support for you.
If short-term counselling does seem like the right option, you will agree the number of sessions (maximum of six), frequency of contact and the focus of your counselling.
If short-term counselling does not seem like the right option for you we will discuss other support that may be beneficial for you. Alternatives may include:
- Referral to external agencies for long-term counselling
- Sign posting to other support services within the university
- Self help information
- Referral to groups or workshops
- Referral to the Health and Wellbeing Team
