International students
It is important to us that our international students are happy while studying with us.
You can find lots of information here on what to expect from a UK university and tips on how to prepare yourself to be successful.
We know that if a student is experiencing culture shock, loneliness, poor mental or physical health or has recently has a traumatic experience that this will impact on their academic performance.
If you are experiencing one of the issues above it is important that you receive proper support. This may come from other students you know or from your family back home. The university also provides support specially to meet the needs of students who are experiencing these issues.
Contact us in the Student Wellbeing Service and we can help you to manage the impact of what you are experiencing. Evidence clearly shows that those students who receive support, when they need it, are more likely to be academically successful than those who don't.
If you need help with your visa, immigration or working in the UK while you study you should contact the international team - you can find their details here.
The International Team can also help with language support.
