Back pain

Back pain

You can get advice on the management of back pain from your GP practice or Derby Walk-in Centre.

The NHS Choices website also provides lots of information about the causes and treatment of back pain.

It is possible for you to reduce the risk of back pain by losing excess weight, wearing flat shoes, reducing tension and stress and maintaining a good posture.

If you are experiencing back pain you may find it useful to visit some of our pages on managing anxiety and managing exam stress, as these are often linked to back pain.

If you have chronic and ongoing back pain and it is affecting your ability to study you may be entitled to further support. Speak to one of our Advisers in the Student Wellbeing Service about this.
