Support for disabled students

We provide a wide range of support for our disabled students. This support will vary from student to student, according to need, but may include personal support, equipment or adjustments to the way you are taught or assessed. Examples of these types of support are listed below.

Personal support can include

  • Note-takers
  • Educational Support Workers
  • Personal Assistants
  • Support Tutors
  • Mental Health Support Workers
  • Sign Language Interpreters

Equipment can include

  • Large screen monitor
  • Lap Top computer
  • Minidisc recorders [for loan]
  • Wheelchairs [for loan]
  • Accessible software
  • Loop system

Adjustments to teaching and assessment can include
  • Extra time to complete assignments
  • Extra time in exams
  • Receiving hand outs in large print
  • Alternative assessments
  • Support to interpret ambiguous language
