Nutrition and Hydration for Endurance Performance

With the Derby 10k run less than two months away, it is timely to provide guidance for everyone who runs regularly, about the scientific principles of nutrition and hydration for 'steady-state' (i.e. mid-long distance running/cycling) endurance performance. The talk will also include practical recommendations for those interested in or currently undertaking endurance exercise. Specific topics will include; energy/sports drinks versus water for hydration, carbohydrate 'loading' and the influence of weather/fitness level on nutrition and hydration practice.
