Two day intensive experience for Year 12 and Level 3 students

Students:
- should be from a widening participation background - more information about widening participation students
- must attend both days and choose a different taster session for each of the days
- can make their own way to each day; teachers aren't required to accompany students
- are recommended to bring their own lunch or money to buy lunch.
- When: Tuesday 26 March-Wednesday 27 March
- Where: Derby Campus
- Time: 10am-3pm
With a focus on creating a strong supply of scientists, engineers and technologists help to boost the UK economy it's even more important to make students aware of the different opportunities available to them. These experience days have been designed to give students the chance to experience what studying a STEM subject at university could be like. It'll encourage them to think about subjects they might not usually consider and challenge them through two days of activities and interactive sessions.
Students must choose a different taster session for each of the days. They can choose from:
Tuesday 26 March
- architecture
- biology, forensics and zoology
- electrical engineering
- geography
- geology
- maths
- mechanical engineering
- music technology
- product design
- psychology
- sport and exercise studies.
Wednesday 27 March
- architecture
- biology, forensics and zoology
- electrical engineering
- geology
- maths
- mechanical engineering
- music technology
- product design
- psychology.
