Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Facilities

We have purpose built workshops at our Markeaton Street site which means you'll be taught in a technical facility.

For our music and media technology students we have a number of dedicated auditoriums so there's plenty of space for music performance, sound and light rigging, and preparing for multimedia events.

We also have two fully-featured recording studios, a set of laboratories so you can study music and lighting technology, and experiment in psychoacoustics and music perception.

For our electrical and electronic engineering students you'll be able to work on microprocessor based system, programmable logic controllers, electrical power, circuit board design and assembly, control, communications and measurement systems.

Graduate success

Our technology graduates are successful in many branches of industry and commerce. Some have used their expertise in areas such as design and manufacturing, where the ability to assess and analyse complex situations and to manage large projects is vital.

Accreditation

Our Sound, Light and Live Event Technology, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering degrees are also accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Techonology (IET).

We're accredited by the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED) so once you have graduated with a Product Design degree and have gained relevant experience you can become a full member of the IED.
