I am a Senior Lecturer on the Specialist Commiunity Public Health Nursing (SCPHN), Community Specialist Practice (CSP), Foundation, Non Medical Prescribing and Interprofessional Practice Educator (PGCIPE) Programmes at Kedleston Road. I module lead, Curriculum Management (PGCIPL) and Evidence Based Practice (SCPHN / CSP / LBR / Face to Face) and take the lead on delivering the V100 prescribing element of the Specialist Practice Issues module on both the SCPHN and CSP programme(s). I also support the work of a local Safeguarding Board and, as part of their current training pool, deliver sessions on assessment and analysis tri annually.


Teaching responsibilities

I am responsible for the teaching, learning and assessment strategies on the modules I lead on and for delivering high quality teaching to a range of students across the College - from level 5 - 7. I am personal tutor / link lecturer to Health Visiting students on the SCPHN programme when on community placement.

I work in practice one day a week and am particularly interested here in raising the profile of the SCPHN practitioner, developing community initiatives such as Parenting Birth and Beyond in collaboration with colleagues from the Family Nusre Partnership and work closely with Small Steps Big Changes - a lottery funded multi agency initiative aimed at reducing health inequalities in Nottingham City.


Professional interests

Professionally, I am interested in interprofessional care delievery and learning; the role and responsibilities of the practice educator; health visiting practice and more specifically, early intervention, self efficacy and transition; parental and maternal mental health and nurse prescribing.

Research interests

My reaserch interests lie in prescribing practice; practice education; health visiting practice and the role and responsibilities of the practice educator.
